A Beautiful Vintage Quilt in the \"Lone Star\" PatternOther Names: Rising Star, Pride of Texas, Rising Sun, Blazing Star
Measures - 63\" x 79\". Shown on Queen bed. See pic 1.
Piecing - Machine
Quilted - By hand. Even stitches. See pic 4.
Top - Royal Blue and pale yellow accents. Star is a multitude of prints and colors. See pic 2 and 3. There is one light quarter size spot on yellow border. See pic . There is one black dot. You will see other \"spots\" on the lighter colors, but its pieces of the cotton boll in the batting showing through. See pic 5. There are aprox 6 holes, with 2 going through. These range pin size to the largest 1\" shown above. See pic 7 and 8. There are two stains, worst shown above. 2nd stain faint and quarter size.
Back - Flour sack. See pic 10. There are various pin holes. See pic 11. Intermittent staining in some areas. See pic 12. Two through holes that were mentioned in \"Front\".
Sashing - NA
Binding - 1/2\" Blue. By hand. Heavily frayed. See pic 10.
Batting - Cotton. Thick. Some ground cotton bowls still visible. See pic 6. These are not stains.
Weight - 3.8 lbs.
Circa early 1900\'s to 1920\'s. I am a lover of old quilts, but not an expert. Age is my opinion, but feel free to make your own evaluation.

Condition - This pretty quilt has lived a long and eventful life. It is clear it was well loved and offered much comfort. This is my personal favorite type of quilt. Old, warm, charming, softness that only old quilts have. There are areas that could use some love. Or you could throw it over the porch swing, use it as a stacker, or on the back of a rocker used to read.
