Up for sale is a 1931 ATWATERKENT MODEL 82 CATHEDRAL RADIO in extremely nice condition. The wood grainon this cabinet is beautiful. It has been refinished and very nicely done. Itdoes show some signs of age and wear: very light surface scratches, some dinks& dents (mainly on the edges), but there is one area on the left hand sidethat has been hit at one time because there is a tight crack that can be seen inthe photo of that side. It isn\'t perfectly smooth to the touch, but it isn\'t aweak spot either. There is a small area on the right hand top arch where thereis an indentation that is hard to see when displayed, but it is there. I took aclose-up photo of that area. There are two areas at the top of the arch on theback that is missing some small pieces of veneer (see photo). There is acriss-cross pattern that measures approx. 1 1/2" long on the very top ofthe back trim piece (see photo). It is under the new finish and I have no ideawhat it is, but thankfully, you can\'t see it from the front. You have to belooking down on it, but it is there. Other than theaforementioned items, it is one of the nicest looking AK cathedrals that I\'vehad the privilege to sell. The grill bars are solid with no separation. Thegrill cloth has no holes, tears or rips and more than likely has been replacedat one time, but some time ago. I don\'t believe the two bottom knobs are correctas they do not match the middle one. The on/off knob on the right hand side hasa crack near the screw, but does not extend to the face nor does it effect itsability to work properly. The other two are fine. The metal escutcheon, dial andpointer are all in excellent condition. You are buying this electronically AS ISas I cannot test it. Tube number 224 is missing, the wire that would sit on topof the tube needs to be replaced and the original power cord has been splicedtogether and should be replaced. The speaker plug is loose, but the cone of thespeaker, from what I can see of it without physically tearing this apart, has noholes, tears or rips. (It is the correct speaker). This has a nice metalidentification tag on the back. This radio measures approx. 16" wide,10" deep and 19" tall. A striking addition to your collection!
