<img the American history of dolls....EARLY, c.1938-44. cloth, black OUTLINED NOSE, Raggedy Ann, 19\" tall, with original, brownish-red yarn hair, black shoebutton eyes and four lower lashes on each side, single stroke brows, smiling mouth with center red and good cheek blush, large black-outlined red nose, striped legs and black shoes, large mitt-type hands, center back stitched seam, full cloth LABEL: Johnny Gruelle\'s Own/ \"Raggedy Ann\" Doll/Trademark Reg. U.S. Patent Off./Copyright 1918-1920 by John B. Gruelle/Georgene Novelties, Inc./New York City/Exclusive Licensed Manufacturers/Made in U.S.A. She has the small, red printed \"I love you\" heart on her left side and wears appropriate (home-made?) tiny-flower printed, cotton dress in the exact style of Georgene. Wonderful, clean condition with some wear to her nose and fading to the large whites of her eyes, small area of wear to one foot. (4601 loc 1) Great, early example of this very popular cloth doll. Other Raggedy dolls and(in lastphotos) are also from this collection, not included and each is available and listed separately.
