Gorgeous 24K gold-platedmetalmuseum replica pendant,depicting a Pre-Columbian deityofthe Diquis culture (pre-Columbian indigenous culture of Costa Rica thatflourished from 700 AD to 1530 AD), possibly a jaguar or bat, set in an ornatesquare with six curving snakes radiating out from the deity\'s body to the inneredges of the frame. Pendant datescirca 1970s, excellentcondition,very light wear to gold coverage on extremity of nose and ears,all else excellent gold coverage, bright and glowing rich yellow gold color, astand-out pendant for cord or chain. Overall measurement is just over 2 ¼ in.square, with generous hanging loop on verso. These pieces are hard tofind, limited editions, produced to accompany Pre-Columbian exhibitions.
