Awesome Native American pottery!

I\'ll tell you what\'s special about this piece. First, it\'s Acoma. These Acoma pieces are highly prized by collectors. The Acoma are known for making the finest, most intricately designed pottery in the American Southwest. This first nation tribe is internationally known for their pottery & I can see why, it\'s just that good. This is a very large olla or head pot. Traditional shape, more modern design in this one than some of those I\'ve seen.

What I like about this one is thestunning tribal design-- a combo of brick red, intricate black and white graphics.ClassicAcoma polychrome pot easily recognizable as Acoma by its black and white, with brick red accents over a nude bisque or creamy beige background. This is abig hand coiled vintage pot. Very rare black cross motif with feather design. I can\'t find these old ones anymore &when I do they\'re in the $500 to $1,500 price range (in high end Southwestern galleries). Exquisite craftsmanship. Signed on foot at bottom by the Native artist, B.O. Garcia, a member of the Acoma tribe. Measures9\" tall by9 inches wide. This would make a great centerpiece for a special table or to be put on display in a mirrored cabinet like the kind you might see in a turn of the century wooden secretary\'s desk.

The artist is fromone of the more famous Acoma potter families, respected throughout the Southwest for the integrity, authenticity and beauty of their designs and craftsmanship.
