About Us
Our family of antiques dealers/collectors began back in the 1950s with my father, a well known dealer in New England who specialized in American and European art, silver and furniture. He was also well versed in antique oriental rugs and estate liquidations. Over a period of 3 decades, he was generous enough to help 5 of my siblings and I enter into this fascinating, exciting, rewarding and occasionally frustrating business. My apprenticeship with my dad began back in the spring of 1973. In 1988, I started Sporting Antiquities, a business designed to sell antique sporting items, especially golf, through public sale.
I have had the privilege of teaching multiple aspects of the antiques business to a young lady from my immediate area who was unacquainted with the antiques business at the time I first met her. Over the course of the last 4-5 years, however, she has gone from a novice to one of the most knowledgeable dealers of American silver on . I am also happy to say that she used many of my silver, Asian and porcelain collectibles to help launch her business and career. The sale of my items benefited us both.
