VINTAGE FENTON HOBNAIL VASELINE OPALESCENT TOPAZ GLASS 1940\'s EPERGNE:
$199.00

This sale is for VINTAGE Fenton Hobnail Vaseline Opalescent TOPAZ GLASS Large Epergne that is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Measures 8” tall and 6\"wide.

a highly desirable piece! Topaz is a gold or yellow color with the special opalescent formula that causes dobs of white to cling to the hobnails and the edge. The color on this one is particuarly nice-- the yellow especially golden, with a lot of opalescence on the edges.

Topaz is highly sought after among collectors, and the small epergnes are themselves highly collectible. Topaz is one of the hardest colors to find of these epergnes. Fenton had to use uranium to get the gold color of the glass; that\'s why, under black light, Topaz glass glows slightly.

Fenton made this item during their second production of Topaz Opalescent, which was short-lived-- this was in the line from January 1959 through July 1961 only. (Fenton also made a version of this for Luray in 1983, but that one would be marked with the Fenton logo; this has no mark, so it is an older one.)

Measures a little under 8.5 inches wide at the widest and about 6.5 inches tall at the tallest.

Great, factory condition. No chips, cracks, or repairs, not even on the bases of the lilies, where you often see damage in
