Vintage Griswold Cast Iron RoundGriddle9ERIE 739 A-11\" - Round Hanging Hole - Heat XFirst of all, I am not an expert on vintage cast iron frying pans/griddles so I am just going to describe this item accurately and please enlarge the photos as they are considered part of the description. Also, I have not cleaned this griddle at all (for fear of messing it up ) so it is in \"as found\" condition. From an 82 year old friend, here is a vintage Griswold 11\" cast iron round griddle. The inside dimension is 10\" and the outside is 11\" and it is 3/4\" tall. It is 15 1/2\" from the end of handle to outside opposite edge. Weight is 4 lb 7.6 oz. It sits flat, is marked with the number 8 (5/8\" high) at 12 o\'clock, \"ERIE\" under that, 739 (3/8\" tall) under that and A (1/4\" tall) under that. GRISWOLD in the slant (italics) style inside the cross and double circle is at the bottom.The handle with round hanging hole measures 5\" from end to inside griddle edge and the underneath size has the heating X. It appears to be in very good vintage condition with no warping, cracks or pitting and it sits flat with no wobble. However the underneath side does have some surface rust which I assume can be cleaned off. It is well seasoned with minor to moderate bake-on and according to the previous owner, has never been in soapy water. Again, enlarge the photos as they are going to be your best indicator of condition. This pan could probably benefit from a good cleaning and seasoning by someone who knows what they are doing.
