This sale is for a beautifully made vintage wooden ship model. It is in remarkable shape. It is finished with a clear varnish which shows off the rich nutty brown wood. This ship model is hand-carved from a solid block of wood. This is not folk art - it is a crisp, well made scale model. There are two masts, rig spreaders, spars, gaff, etc. and all block and tackles are made from the same wood as the hull. Each block (pulley) is hand carved. The stern has a smooth curve with a slightly crescent shaped transom post. It looks like the model was never fitted with a rudder as I see no holdes for the rudder shaft. The sprit is square in profile. The model sits on two wedge shaped wood stand pieces with channels cut to fit the keel. The model is free of the stand and can be just lifted away. It has a cat metal anchor and full sets of sail mast rings on each mast made of brass wire. There are no major dings or scratches. Dimensions: Height (keel to mast top) is 21\" - Length (tip of boom to spar) is 22\" - hull length bow to stern is 15.5\" and beam is 3.5\". The model will be packed well to ensure a damge free delivery via USPS.
