VINTAGE JAPANESE CHADO TEA CEREMONY SHIGARAKI NATSUME TEA CADDY WITH SILK POUCH:

This is a late Taisiho era vintage (c. 1926) chado (tea ceremony) natsume tea caddy. It is made of a high fire hand made ceramic from the Shiga kilns of central Japan. Known as Shigaraki, this glaze has a unique flowing organic look with contrasting glazes. This small natsume vase has a fitted bone lid (see pictures 3 & 4). It also comes with a custom silk pouch.

Having been in storage for nearly a century, all items are in very fine condition. it measure 3 1/2 \" (8.5 cm) high.
