~Pieces inEXCELLENT condition for age!32 Pieces included.Museum quality display. This set is infine condition for age. Somewear with age.Natural stone and artist imperfections as few nicks to stone, uneven edges etc. as hand carved works of art. Some pieces have a few tiny rocks embedded in crevices. Patinaleft as found.Exquisite set in person. Beautiful coloring and feel to stones. No breaks,cracks or repairs observed.Board has some wear with age as few scratches, rust hinges latches. Presentation box has wear with age. All clean condition. Pictures taken with flash and in natural lighting to show coloring and details. White spots flash from camera. Comes as shown 32 pieces with folding wood board-box,Asian green floral silk covered presentation box for pieces.Pieces are solid, heavy, cool in hand. Hand carved stone believed references and history of this set state Alabaster and possibly Serpentine. Light green vs dark green. Lovely coloring and variations to the stones. Light green stone pieces have beautiful white cloud inclusions varying shades of light green to yellow-green.Primitively hand carved by artist, beautiful details. Museum quality display. Pieces represent Sejong the Great, fourth ruler of the Yi dynasty in 1419. Stunning stylized figures. Royal figures standing. Bishop\'s hat suggests teacher or court administrator. Castle is a Buddhist pagoda. Beautiful stylized horses as Knights. Circa 20th C, 1930s-1940s. This set is shown in Ned Munger\'s Volume 3 \"Cultures, Chess & Art,\" fig 38, pages 143-144. These sets were not widely available. Scarce in this beautiful condition. True vintage. NOT a recent reproduction.
