Forsale is a lovely vintage Lucite bag made by LLewellyn of New York. The box portion of the bag measures 5 1/4\" tall to the top of the lid and approximately 10 3/4\" tall overall height with handles included. The purse measures 6 11/16\" wide at the base of the purse and 4 13/16\" deep. The lid measures 5 1/4\" wide and 3 1/2\" deep.

The purse is a tapered octagon shaped body that is constructed of a tortoise shell or caramel colored body and 2 elongated handles that create a very stylish look. The lid is clear and has a carved leaf and flowers design on theinterior that show off a very experienced carvers talents. There is a hinged style brass closure to securely lock it shut. There are four feet applied on the bottom to keep from scratching the Lucite. This purse has wonderful marbleizing in the exterior surface for great style.

The purse is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks in the Lucite and the hinge and pins for the handles are all very secure and show that this was a cared for accessory by some lucky lady back in the day.The interior of this gem is marked \"Lewsid Jewel TM N.Y.C. LLewellyn Inc.\" with a side profile of a Diamond or Jewel in gold leaf. This was their trademark. LLewellyn was one of the leading designer and manufacturers of Lucite purses back in the 1950\'s and this little gem is quite the fashion statement. It would make a perfect handbagfor a special occasion or even just a stylish accessory for casual wear.
