This is a beautiful red rose lucite brooch with vibrant colors!. This type of brooch was made using a technique called reversed carved or intaglio, which was a technique that originated in Europe. Basically the brooch is carved down into the material from the back. If the back-plate were removed, you could see the carving down inside the lucite brooch. It has a locking and working \"C\" clasp and works fine. Because I photographed this outside with very bright light, you can see some minimal scratching but honestly they can barely be seen without really looking or using a magnifying glass. This is just beautiful and one of my favorite pieces. This came from a beautiful Estate Sale here in New England\'s Cape Cod and I\'m still going though about 1000 pieces!
