1933 INGERSOLL MICKEY MOUSE CLOCKThis is an ALL ORIGINAL 1933 Ingersoll Disney Mickey Mouse Wind-Up Clock. The owner stated they were told their grandparents purchased the clock at the 1933 Chicago World’s fair. This is the US version of the clock produced in 1933. This clock is very rare and I think is the first clock produced by Disney.
It is 4.5\" square by 2.5\" deep metal case w/paper strip across top and down each side showing images of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Horace, and Clarabelle Cow. Clock face features Mickey, whose animated hands point at the numerals and smaller disc w/images of three small Mickeys that spin as the seconds tick.
The second dial with 3 small mickeys has come loose. Clock face has light aging. Paper band shows some darkening. The glass is clear and is crack free, The metal case shows a little aging, but has NO dents. See pictures for details. The manual adjust Hand Set knob for Mickey’s hands still works. Clock does not run. It appears to be over wound. Very possible that lubricating the gears will enable the clock to run. A couple of the 4 small rivets that attach the clock case to the back panel are loose to where there is about 1/8 inch play if you pull on the back of the clock. I think this is how the second dial came loose. It appears it would be pretty easy to remove the back, re-attach the second dial, and lubricate the gears. I will leave that repair decision to the new owner.
This is the 2nd of these clocks that I have put up for sale. Both of them came from the same family. The 1st one had a broken glass. I was going to keep this one, but decided to let this one go to a serious Disney or Clock collector. Let me know if there are any questions.
