VINTAGE MID-CENTURY RARE KALMAR DESIGN TEAK WOOD JEWELRY/TRINKET BOX - UNIQUE STYLE AND DESIGN - EXCELLENT CONDITION!Mid-Century Modern, Danish Modern Design at Its Finest! This is a rare Kalmar Design jewelry/trinket box. I have been unable to locate a similar box anywhere on the Internet! The unique Modernist design is evident upon first handling it, as the box looks identical when viewed from the front and back. The design also incorporates a unique feature that allows the front-edge of the box to swing out and pivot downwards, which acts like a stand that causes the box to tilt slightly backwards. When the front-edge is in the upright position, closing the lid will secure it in place. Tres chic! I have taken numerous photographs to illustrate this unique feature.Considering its age, the condition of the box is excellent, with no real issues. Minor, tiny \"scratches\" here and there. Nothing a bit of buffing will not fix in a jiffy. I was going to recondition and rejuvenate the luster of the box with a bit of Danish Oil, but decided to leave it as is, and allow the Buyer to decide the final finish. The dimensions of the box are approximately 8\" wide; 5 1/8\" deep; 1 3/16\" tall.
