Welcome to Muranocity sales. I collect many things but expeciallylove the old art glass from Murano and Chalet Canada. I love to hunt and find things other collectors may appreciate. I have quite a few pieces of murano artglass to pass on. This piece is from my elderly mothers\'s collection .
This sale of for a STUNNING piece of mid century art glass from Murano Italy. This piece is a large ruby red handled basket. The body of the basket was done in a quilted pattern. The top edge is and the bottom of the base is applied to the piece. It is clear glass shaped and filled with gold mica. The handle is clear twisted glass filled with gold mica and applied to the sides of the piece. The pontil on the bottom and the applied handles are rough cut. He is unsigned but is an obvious example of Murano glass from the mid century. I would date this piece to the 1940\'s or the early 1950\'s. This piece is 10 1/2 inches high to the top of the handle. It is 8 inches long and 4 3/4 inches wide measured at the handle. It is in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Please notice in the last picture there is a dark line below the handle. This is not a crack, but a darker collection of the ruby glass. Please see the pictures to make your determination.
