VINTAGE OMEGA DAY DATE GENEVE MENS CAL 1020 WATCH AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT GOLD

JUST HAD A FULL SERVICE OF WATCH JUST BEFORE LISTING (SEE BELOW WHAT THIS MEANS)

I\'VE JUST ADDED A OMEGA BOX PICTURED WITH THIS SALE - SEE PICTURE !

This is my personal favouriteOmega model (Geneve) and Cal 1020. It feels a little chunkier than most vintage watches and the movement is really nice looking, reliable and super good for appreciation value. It has just been full serviced so this is good to go for years.

Sweeping hand movement, looks and works wonderful. Rare Day Date.

Case measures 35mm not including the crown. This has to be one of my favouritewatches I have ever listed, I\'ve literally sold hundreds of vintage Omega\'s and this is in my top 5 sold. Its a classy and beautifulwatch.Overall condition would be 8/10 so expect minor imperfections but as you can see from the high resolution photos the watch is in very good condition. The back has minor scratches as per pics. Please study the photos as this makes part of the description.

SEE VIDEO AND STUDY THE SUPERB SWEEPING HAND MOVEMENT - WOW !

The inside of the stainless steel back has the Omega logo and is stamped with the model\'s serial number. The movement itself is also stamped with the Omega logo and has a small panel with the calibre number and the identifying number. The hands and batons are gold coloured and the dial is brushed white.

There is no box with this, just the watch which is 100% authentic.

Boxed:Yes. Omega wooden box seen in pictures. This is heavy well made box around 2kg.

Paper: No - this does not guaranteeauthenticity. I do as a Power Seller. I have literally sold hundreds of luxury watches - view my excellent response.

The reasons why Omega vintage watches are good to buy:

1.Value/Investment. They hold their value brilliantly and should actually increase in value over the next few years as they become rarer and rarer. Buying a brand new watch is like a car, as soon as it leaves the premises the prices drops by at least 20%. A vintage watch like this in excellent condition and serviced by a Omega specialist is very difficult to find.

2.Stealth Wealth. A leading American news commentator wrote an article regarding \"Stealth wealth\" - where this watch type is purchased by gentleman who tend to purchase things that are discrete and very sophisticated. Basically a subtle way to show off the exquisiteness of good taste.

SERVICING

This watch has just had a full service. These in itself can be very expensive, upwards of £400 + VAT. Like cars engines the performance of your watch\'s movement is likely to deteriorate over time if not cared for properly. Watches like this should be serviced at least once every 5 years. There are different oils used in wristwatches. Oils can dry up and lose their cohesiveness over time. Naturallylike a car, a serviced watch can also help the appreciation value

The full service included the following:

Removal of the movement from its case |Complete disassembling of the movement |Full ultrasonic cleaning of the case and bracelet (if applicable) |Acrylic glass polishing |All parts are then cleaned |The movement is then reassembled, applying fresh lubricants | The watch has been regulated to maximize its performance.

I am selling lots more items including my French holiday home where I dropped the price from £350k > £275k. Also selling a couple more watches, top notch gents & ladies ones. Have a look.

I have excellent response from well over 800 sales. I have recently been upgraded to a \"Power Seller\". Therefore offer with complete confidence.

To drum up interest I am shipping Worldwide for this one. Any collector out there I\'m sure you would agree what a rare find this is. I can dispatch within 24 hours of payment being received. You will receive very fast.

Any questions drop me a mail.

Some trivia on Omega watches:

1. In 1848 a 23 year old named Louis Brandt is credited with starting the brand which later became Omega.

2. In the early 1900\'s OMEGA\'s watches were prized by railroad professionals in China, the United States, Canada and much of Europe.

3. The association between OMEGA and swimming dates back to the 1932 Los Angeles Olympic Games. The relationship is still going strong.

4. Omega was a major supplier of watches to large ministries of defense, especially during the 1st and 2nd World Wars. The company\'s timepieces would go on to be used by the armed and special forces of British, France, Italy, USA, Norway, Sweden, Canada to name a few.

5. Important musicians including Elvis, Beatles members & Buddy Holly have been photographed wearing Omega watches.

6. Past world leaders such as JFK and Mikhail Gorbachev choice of watch. Pope John Paul II wore Omega watches.

7. Before official chronometers, Olympic chronographs or the NASA-approved Speedmasters Omega watches.

8. Omega \"Pie Pan\" is used a term in the industry /collectors to describethe style dials from other models. The dial that has the hour/minute markers placed in a concentric ring that slopes down at a constant angle i.e, not rounded, from a raised flat center, and that the center is often a contrasting color or tone. This design usually commands a premium price and seen in the Constellation & De Ville models.

9. The Geneva Line, created in 1953, was made as an homage to our workshops in Geneva where OMEGAs best regulators were working. The line was finally discontinued in 1979 as the law in Geneva stipulates that a brand must have a presence in the canton of Geneva to include the word Geneva or any variation of on the dial.

10. Omega has four main watch families today that are well known to everyone interested in the brand: Seamaster, Speedmaster, Constellation and De Ville.
