This sale representsunique example of a vintage men\'s timepiece of one of the most known andrecognized Swiss brands. It was made by “OmegaFactory” in 1940. The watches under the trade mark \'OMEGA’ always differed by style, accuracy and fidelity to the besttraditions of watch affair.
This unique timepiecefeatures a professionally made dial executedin a military style and stylized asthe watch of the Luftwaffe. It is an early variant of the big navigationwatch of the Luftwaffe with hourangle indication, featuring a 60 minute checkered outer track border, bluesteel hands, easily readable Arabic numerals and a sub-second’s dial. The original dial is signed ‘OMEGA’ with trademark Omega symbolabove this.
This model of OMEGA watch has a three-piece. The inside of back lid has the old trademark Omega symbol withthe inscription ‘OMEGA –SWISS MADE – FABRICATION SUISSE’and reference number #10.588.306.
Theinscriptions: ‘Swiss made’, ‘Fabrication Suisse’ testify that thiswatch has been assembled on 100% exclusively in Switzerland.
The winding crown is in very good shape and operates properly.
This unique watch is mechanical and completely original. Theoriginal movement of this mechanical watch is in anexcellent status which was very well saved, considering age of this watch. Onthe mechanism there are inscriptions: ‘OMEGA’,‘SWISS’, and ‘15 JEWELS’. The signedoriginal movement with 15 genuinejewels has serial number #9.418.860. The serial number on themovement places the date of production of this piece at 1940.
Originally this was a pocketwatch, but later it was remade for useas a wristwatch.

HISTORY: The History of a Successful Company Omega was foundedby Louis Brandt at La Chaux– de – Fonds, Switzerlandin 1848 as an assembly workshop. In 1879, after his death, his two sons LouisPaul and César started the in-house manufacturing so they started having totalproduction control. One year later, Omega moved into a small factory thatbecame a huge one when 12 months later they bought the entire building. In1903, they both died leaving the company in 24 years old, Paul Emile Brandt’shands. Because of the crisis that the Second World War left, he had to workreally hard in order to face the economic difficulties. He merged Omega withTissot calling the new company SSIH. The SSIH group continued to grow andmultiply under his leadership and, by the seventies, it had become Switzerland’snumber one producer of finished watches and number three in the world.
