Vintage Reuge singing bird box in excellent condition. This is one of the prettiest case styles that Reuge crafted. The gold gilt case has a gorgeous lapis lazuli effect finish that really catches your eye. The original bird is highly colorful boasting iridescent red, green, blue and yellow hummingbird feathers. Hummingbird feathers present themselves differently depending upon the light source and viewing angle and pictures never capture the full beauty.

I fully serviced (cleaned, adjusted, lubricated)the mechanical movement so this singing bird box operates perfectly. This bird box has Reuge\'s \"soft close lid\" and the birdsong is also slightly softer and more lifelike than most. This item naturally has some patina and signs of use. The bird animates perfectly as follows: wings flap up/down, beak opens/closes, tail flutters up/down, bird turns left/right all the while singing to a beautiful oscillating bird song that is synchronized to the bird animation.
