This vintage religious token (coin or jeton) appears to date to no later than the very early 1900s and likely dates to the 1800s. The obverse has an image of Santa Maria, with the words S. MARIA MATER DEI along the rim and the letters IL beneath the bust. The reverse has a nativity scene, with the three kings bringing gifts to the holy mother and child, with wording along the rim. This item (which might have had a loop removed) is holed for use as a pendant or fob. The composition appears to be copper, and the diameter is approximately 24 mm (15/16\").

This item is in good condition, with fairly even wear, signs of handling, and toning.
