Wonderful Vintage Elizabeth II Solid Sterling Silver & Guilloche Enamel Powder Compact Made ByAdie Brothers Ltd
Description - Lovelygood quality vintage mid 20th century Elizabeth II good thick gauge solid silver with a slightly domed hinge lid, clasp and thumb piece.
The lid has wonderful white guillocheenameling which has hand painted flowers andleaves, the base has nice engine turneddecoration.
The interior has an inner hingedliddedpowder compartment with a spring loaded clasp.
The compact is is fullyhallmarkedwith the anchor forBirmingham assay, the lion passantindicating925 grade solidsterling silver, the date letter \"E\" for the year 1954 and the makers mark \"A BROS LTD\" which isAdie Brothers Ltd.
Condition -The case is in good condition, the enamels glaze has a chip which is hard to notice (please see end photograph).
Other than that the enamel is in very good order with a nice gloss finish, there are no dents, dinks, splits, holes or repairs to the silver.
There is no wear or rubbing to the engine turned decoration. Both of the hinges and clasps are in very good working order clicking both lids nice and tightly.
The interior mirror is in good order but has a chip under the inner rim which is just about visible.
Dimensions & Weight -The compact is 7.8cm in diameter.
The gross weight is 121 grams.
