Vintage model train set. Box reads \"Standard Gauge Large Model Train Set, Battery Operated, with Patent Control Mechanism, Made in Japan\". Made out of tin. 6 cars including engine and caboose. Baltimore and Ohio 88 engine, 8 inches long. NYC New York Central System 9 3724 0 open freight car, this car is missing a coupler from one end (see pics), flatbed car, Texaco TCX 208, The Texas Company fuel tanker, Santa Fe A.T.S.F. 141529 The Grand Canyon Line closed box car with sliding doors, and B & O 19035 caboose. Takes 2 D batteries, not included. I did put batteries in to try it out and it worked great. 6 pieces of curved track, and 5 pieces of straight track, one of which has stop light and brake switch. The set itself is in very good condition. Shows a few minor scratches most likely from bouncing around in the box, but basically looking like it has never been played with. Tin track showing some discoloration from age but also in very good condition. The original outer box has nice period graphics on the cover but is showing significant wear. I could not find any marks to identify the manufacturer. As shown, as is, see photos which form part of the description.
