VINTAGE STERLING SILVER 19\" 8 MM HAND ROLLED TURQUOISE HEISHI NECKLACE - NAVAJO
While visiting Flagstaff AZ we had the opportunity to run over to the Navajo Indian Reservation and bring back several beautiful handcrafted pieces. This particular piece is a 19\" hand rolled 8 mm turquoise heishi necklace that dates mid-century. It is in good vintage condition and still appears to be on the original heavy gauge fox tail wire. The end cones measure 2\" and are stamped sterling. The hook and eye closure is also sterling. The different colors of matrix and turquoise are interesting to say the least and very complimentary to one another. This necklace was certainly not machine made and brings with it many images of the artisan working each piece to produce this very unique natural form of art. Total weight is 28.8 grams.
