This piece of rough Fordite measures approx. 38mm x 29mm x 9mm thick, measured at it\'s widest points, and weighs 8.6 grams.

Fordite, which is also known as Detroit agate, is automobile paint, from the Ford factory in Detroit, which has hardened sufficiently to be cut and polished. Layer by layer, enamel paint over-spray built up on the metal racks and skids that transported car bodies through the paint shop in Detroit, and into the ovens where each coat was baked hard numerous times. Over the past years, this material has been recycled into a unique and fun piece of jewelry.

Fordite is a rare material with a unique history. There are many imitations on the market, but this is the real deal.
