Vintage Wallpapering Brushes (2) Early - Mid 20th C Scottish:
Used by generations of the family, but now, a case of no wallpaper, which I actually miss lol, getting too aged, and lack of interest by the ones following, so it would be nice if these could go to people who not only appreciate what they are, but will use them. A lot to ask but one lives in hope....or one just lives😆
Anyhow, Scottish, though I know nothing of their place of manufacture. No marks or stamps. Bought, late 1920 - 30s in St Andrews, or thereabouts, and used professionally from then. I last used them in the late 60s....not professionally I should add. If you look at the bristle on the broad paperbrush, you can see some minor damage to the bristles. This is not evident looking from the other side of the brush, indicating Granddad used only his right hand when working the paper. Photos also show, if you look very closely, some little shed bristles, but the overall stability and quality is excellent. Some people think the other brush with the handle is a paint brush but it too, is a paperbrush. Different technique for the same end purpose. The broad one, for lack of a better description is 20cm x 9cm x 2.5cms, and the other, is 10.5cms broad and the brush itself is also 10.5. The handle is 12cms
Personally I think they should stay together, who am I, as a seller to dictate that hehe.Should you like just one, please give me a message. No problems.
Thought long and hard about asking, and feel that $35 each should be a fair ask. Of course I feel worth more, but that's not the issue.
