Please consider this darling Margaret faced doll dressed as a man or boy and made in the USA by Madame Alexander. Made in 1948-49 he is 17\" tall, has that highly desired matt finish, is jointed at the neck, shoulder and hip, and is all hard plastic. He comes dressed in an Ivy League shirt and cap and black velvet pants. I find no marking on the back of the neck or it is too faint to read. His face is nice with great cheek color and perfect red mouth. He has working blue gray sleep eyes with all lashes present that match the gray of his shirt. All paint is present and his face has no scratches or blemishes except a very minor flaw on his chin which am not sure will show up in the pictures. His original wig was this way when I bought him and is cute so nicely styled, especially at the side that I thought perhaps he was one of the Margaret faced men dolls that was sold as a groom. There is a nice neat side part shown in one picture and it covers nicely. Clothing: Not original but looks great and the striped ivy league shirt with the button down collar and even a button at the back, has real wee button holes and 40\'s buttons, all present. There is a pleat down the back and it can be worn inside or out. Since it is real cotton, it will have to be pressed if worn on the outside like shown. The cap has a buckle at the back and is lined. Am not sure if factory or is hand made but is very well done. Black velvet pants that I am guessing were handmade. Black side snap shoes and rayon socks. His body is fine without problem, cracking ,scratches, or stains. All dainty fingers and toes are present. Color is even and he holds a nice pose. He is from a non smoking home and has no odors.
