I continue to sell items from my parent\'s Brooklyn Heights estate. In many cases I am also selling pieces that belonged tomy grandparents and aunt. I have had thegood fortune of living with these pieces for many years.

I own a number of David Burliuk\'s paintings that I inherited from my grandparents. My grandfather, a Yiddish poet, became personal friends with himwhen 2nd Avenue cafes was a haven forJewish intellectuals and artists. All the paintings were given to my grandparents and someare signed and others not. This particular Flowers in a Vase is unsigned. It is a verybold piece and has Burluik\'s signature overlapping of oils giving his work dimension. He is a listed and well sought after artist. Burluik was considered the Father of Futurism and in Germany along with such luminaries as Klee and Kandinsky and is becoming more recognized in the United States. It is in excellent condition and has a simple, probably original plain frame.

Measures: 20 1/2\" wide x 28 1/2 high.
