THIS IS A REAL FLAME GAS FIREPLACE BUT ALSO HAS AN ELECTRIC LIGHT TO ADD AUTHENTICITY OR THE LIGHT CAN BE USED WITHOUT THE REAL FLAME TURNED ON.

I can\'t find another one like this. The patent number shows it was applied for in 1940 and published in 1942, so guessing this is from the 1940\'s or 1950\'s. White ceramic logs(resemble eitherEucalyptus, Birch, Cypress, Whitebark Pine, or Poplar)make for a beautiful fireplace and heater. I believe it can be used as an insert or stand-alone fireplace/heater. It has an electric bulb that you can light either when you don\'t have the actual fire lit or to make it look more real. I did not hook this up to gas, so that part is untested but its a basic gas line, so I\'m sure it will work. The fireplace weighs 46.5 lbs. It measures 19\" wide at the widest part of logs, 10.5\" in depth and is 18\" tall. For shipping I may remove the ceramic backing from the metal stand so you might need to reassemble.

Very cool and would look great with mid century modern furnishings. (first fewpictures below show just the base unit without the two log pieces stacked in front.)
