This little 1930's miniature Santa ornament is small, measuring just 2 1/2" long! He is made from a super thin celluloid - there is thin and then VERY thin, like this fellow! He is so thin he is translucent, with bright paint that has worn a bit over time. He was probably originally white, but has darkened to a dark cream color. (Patina is what this darkening is called; the color and antique look that items get over time). He is just so sweet! He is sitting in his sleigh with his pack, and there are holes on either side of the sleigh for reins, so there probably was a celluloid reindeer at some point. One of the holes is round, and one has roughened a bit. There is a small dent in one end of the sleigh in the back. VERY small flaws, for something so very fragile. He, like many items I have for sale, is part of the "how do these things survive" category! He is so small and fragile, and so cute!
