I am pleased to offer this gorgeous vintage cup and saucer from ROYAL STAFFORD Bone China, made in England. The pattern is called \"June Roses\".
Both the cup and saucer have scalloped edges with gold gilt trim around the top and bottom edges of each, as well as the back of the cup handle.
This dainty cup and saucer are both covered in pink roses, blue flowers, possibly cornflowers and yellow posies. The foliage is in a variety of yellow and green shades . This pattern resembles chintz in that the design completely covers the exterior of the cup and the interior of the saucer. The opposite sides of each are white.
The underside is stamped \"June Roses\". As well, the word \"ROYAL STAFFORD, BONE CHINA, MADE IN ENGLAND\" are imprinted. The artist\'s mark,11, is painted on the underside of the cup only.
Measurements:
The teacup has a diameter of 3 1/8\" across the inside and 3 7/8\" to the end of the handle. It bulges out and narrows towards the base and is 2 3/4\" tall. The saucer is 5 3/8\" in diameter x 7/8\" high. This is a bit smaller than other makes of cups and saucers.
Both the cup and saucer are in excellent vintage condition with muted colors, a lovely design and trim.There are no chips, cracks or crazing evident. This set appears new and unused.
This charming Royal Stafford \'June Roses\' vintage cup and saucer would make a lovely addition to a collection of cups and saucers or, the beginning of a new one!
