VAN BRIGGLE 6\" PLATE 1907-1912 GEESE HEADS ARTUS DESIGN DEEP MULBERRY GLAZE MINT
This Van Briggleplate/tray measures 5/8\" high by 6\" in diameter. Itis adesign by Artus Van Briggle in 1900, titled \'Geese Heads\'. There is a vase which predates it with the same design in the Van Briggle references for shapes, which we\'ve never seen. This plate/tray is decoratedwith Geese Heads, which present like seabirds, inaspiraling swirled presentation, a very handsome and pleasing motif. It is glazed in adeep, richmulberryglaze, with the clay color peeking through at the high points, making for a great glaze effect. Thisplate is well marked, and guaranteed to be vintage Van Briggle dating to 1907-1912 based upon the mark. According to the references, plates were only made until 1912, so that is consistent with the mark. It is inmint condition, no apologies. This nice early Van Briggle plate/tray, designed by Artus Van Briggle, makes a great Arts &Crafts presentation!
