Mosasaurs are anextinct group of large Marine Dinosaurs that probably evolved from anextinct group of aquatic Lizards known aigialosaurs in the EarlyCretaceous 100 million years ago specifically during the last 20million years of the Cretaceous period. After the extinction ofichthyosaurs and the decline of plesiosaurs, Mosasaurs became one ofthe most dominant marine predators.
