Very Nice German Hunting Forestry Sword 19th Century:
This is a gorgeous example of a German Forestry Hunting Sword which dates from the mid 19th Century and was manufactured by Carl Eickhorn. It is mounted with a beautiful straight, spearpoint blade that measures 24 1/2 inches in length. The blade is fabulously detailed with intricate engravings that are enhanced with 95% of the original beautiful bright blue and gold wash which is still present on either side. The blade remains in superb original condition with only minor surface blemishes. The outstanding fittings are all also very nicely detailed featuring various hunting motifs and remain very nice as well. The lovely horn grips are in very healthy condition and are adorned with three highly detailed rivets on both sides. The leather scabbard is lightly scuffed nevertheless does remain healthy and the lovely fittings that wonderfully compliment the Sword remain nice as well. The small skinning knife is now missing. Overall measuring 30 1/2 inches in length. (please note other items shown as props are not included in this sale)
