Very desireable and RARE... US Colonial period Hand Fashioned Oil or Kerosene Hand Held Lamp Lantern (Wick still there).  This may have originally been a tea pot or the like, but it is a lamp now, and may very well have been made as a lamp, and never a tea pot.  The lid is the thing that makes me think that.  The wick is still in there.  It is definately Colonial era. Signed with the makers initials and full name.   This is a fantastic estate discovery.  Found in a box with numerous other old items from the cellar of an old estate being liquidated.   I didn\'t even realize I had this until I started fumbling around in those old boxes looking for things to throw away and lighten up.  See the pictures, they tell the complete story.

Fashioned from hand wrought and formed copper, soldered together.   Makers Initials and name shown in pics.

Condition is strong overall, with a small seperation of the filler threads to the body in one spot (see the closeup) otherwise.... a few dents here and there. For its age, I think this is a fantastic example of early american workmanship.

Measures: 4 3/4\"  high to lid, 10\" wide, 6\" round base diameter.
