A fantastic example of an early 1800\'s whale oil lantern.3 3/4 inches tall, with hanger 7.5 inches, from front to back it is 4 inches.side to side 3inchesIt is in good conditionconsideringits age, checkout the \"Harpoon Shaped Iron Hanger\" which would allow the lantern to swing and stay level with the ships movement.We estimate 1800\'s - possibly 1820\'s - maybe much much earlier.
