This is probably the Largest example known of these famous Mediterranean daggers most of which date from the 1700s era and are nearly half the size of this "monster". Having a very cool single edged blade of traditional form with a very unusual deep notch in ricasso, showing nice smooth patina and areas of fine pitting. Large iron bolster mounted with a lovely twisted h0rn grip which shows few minor bug bites but remains in completely solid shape and is finished with a nice dark brass pommel crown. All solid and intact on this enormous and very scarce example, it comes with its original brass mounted leather scabbard showing light wear but still in perfect shape for its age. overall 18 1/2" blade 10 3/4".
