Imperial Era German TelephoneAn impressive and very rare German telephone from the WWI era. It has two crank handles, one on each side of the metal body. The body has a large Reichsadler (Imperial Eagle) transfer on each side. The metal body has a wooden base and a wooden top which is stamped in several places. A possible date of manufacture is stamped 19.7.18, and the name R. Krüger is also stamped (perhaps the manufacturer?). Several feet of original cord is still attached to the telephone.
While we are not phone experts (let the photos be your guide), this phone appears to be in working mechanical condition and in excellent shape for its age and rarity. There is a small amount of missing/broken wood on the handset portion on the mouthpiece end, as shown in the attached pictures.
