This is wonderful Victorian 15ct Gold Garnet set Etruscan Demi Parure consisting of a Locket Back Target Brooch & matching Earrings, which dates to 1871. All with twisted rope decoration surrounding Garnets in star settings and with ball decoration to the edge (please see the detailed close-up photographs provided, which form anintegral part of the item\'s description).
This finest quality Brooch & Earrings have been crafted in finest 15ct Gold and each component carries the Victorian Registration Lozenge on the reverse side, as shown, which enables us to accurately date them to 31st December 1871.
The stunning Brooch of circular form, which weighs 7.8 grams, has a diameter of approx\' 3.5cms. While the earrings, which weigh 2.7 grams for the pair, hang on their original gold French Wires and have a drop of approx\' 2.7cms and a diameter of approx\'1.8cms.These wonderful earrings just shimmerbeautifully when worn;as is common with genuine antique earrings they are made of hollow construction to ensure they look substantial yet hang and move beautifully in the ears
Overall this fabulous Victorian Demi Parure is in great condition with only wear commensurate with age; one tiny area of twisted rope decoration has been lost & the Brooch & Earrings have minor dings, as shown, on the reverse side, which won\'t be noticed when worn and more mentioning for descriptivecompleteness.
This superb Brooch & Earrings come in their original leather covered sculpted shell case, which is in superb condition; lined in blue velvet with beautiful blue silk satin lining to the interior of the lid. The box has a good strong hinge and it\'s original push button clasp that works perfectly. Overall it is in great condition with no damage and only expected wear commensurate with age.
