This exquisite antique Victorian era handmade Maltese bobbin lace bell sleeve short crop jacket dates from 1900. It is made of an off white cream color handmade Maltese bobbin lace with a filmy linen half stitch, connecting thread picot ornamented bars, braided plaits and scalloped lace trim edging. This lovely lace jacket has a short cropped bolero shrug style length, with a loose fitting open front, no closure, flared wide bell shape sleeves and is sheer, unlined. The jacket measures 14 inches long, with a 36 inch bust and 13 inch back. It is in good condition, with only a few small breaks in the lace which are barely noticeable. This is truly a rare and exceptional, quality made piece of wearable antique lace art!
