This antique Victorian era paisley print wool challis wrapper bustle gown dress dates from the 1870s. It is made of a fine woven wool challis fabric with a black striped, paisley print pattern done in warm autumn fall shades of gold, orange, red, blue and green. This wonderful wrapper morning gown bustle dress has a long floor length full skirt with slight back train, scalloped hemline, gathered puff bustle back with button trim accents, black cotton padded piping rolled trim edging, black velvet trim on the collar, sleeve cuffs, patch pocket and button trim with hook closures hidden underneath going all the way down the scalloped front opening and is lined in a linen fabric inside the top only, the skirt is unlined. The dress measures 56 inches long in the front, 64 inches long in the back, with a 34 inch bust, 24 inch waist, 20 inch long sleeves and a 13 inch back. It is in good condition, with only some faint underarm discoloration, a few small frays on the inside top near the hook closures and a small stain inside the top (see close-ups). This is truly a magnificent piece of antique Victoriana paisley textile wearable art!
