A superb highly decorative original antique hand beaten repousse work brass jardiniere/planter.

Made by William Soutter & Sons of Birmingham,with early strike makers mark on the base.

Superb craftsmanship with detailed floral motifs and faun/satyr handles.

Old style castleatted jointing on base.(see photo 9).

Circa 1870 possibly earlier...

It definitely has the look and is a rare find.

Handles and base are very strong and sturdy with no movement.

In great overall condition for age, has marks,dinks,dents hear and there,totally original condition with a great aged patina on base.All nothing major,but noted.And only adds to its great charm and appeal.Looks to have had an old etc on the inside where the handles attach....still very strong,no movement.

Please note this item is over 140 years old and has wear and tear commensurate with age and use.

Weighs 1.722 kilos unwrapped.
Measures 12\"across at widest point and is 7.75\"tall with a top rim diameter of 8.5\".

Base has a diameter of just under 6\".
