This Victorian era antique Belgian Brussels Rose Point Duchesse bobbin lace silk wedding gown dress dates from the 1880s. It is hand stitched, custom made with an ivory color silk charmeuse lustrous satin weave fabric, hand made Belgium Brussels Duchesse bobbin lace off white cream color filmy linen stitch, with veined, raised threads flowers and leaves, joined by braided plaits and delicate Rose Point de Gaze needlepoint lace inserts. This exquisite lace bridal wedding gown dress has a princess line fitted style, is a long floor length with a full skirt, back train, sheer silk chiffon inserts along the bottom skirt, a layered ruffle hemline petticoat underneath, a fitted bodice covered with hand made lace applique work, a lace shawl collar, layered puffed sleeves, bow back trim with hook closures hidden underneath and is fully lined with stays boning construction sewn inside both the bodice and skirt. The princess line dress was introduced and made popular by Charles Frederick Worth in the 1870s and was named in honor of Princess Alexandra. The dress measures 61 inches long in the front, 71 inches long in the back, with a 36 inch bust, 26 inch waist and 13 inch back. It is in good as-is condition needing some restoration, has not been cleaned with a few faint small age spot stains scattered on the lace trim and the silk fabric bottom skirt, a frayed rip along the bottom side skirt silk chiffon insert and the inside silk lining has several splits is shattering inside (see close-ups).
