This Scarab Beetle (Stag Beetle?) antique brooch is missing its entire back. It\'s a very nice antique piece however and could be incorporated into another piece of jewelry. Perhaps fastened to a flat pendant of some kind or used as a pendant.The brass metal has a heavy patina. It is quite sturdy, not fragile, which is why I think it is the top of an old brooch, as opposed to a piece once fastened to a surface of some kind. The beetle is one and 3/8th inch long.
