Victorian Civil War Era Antique Hand Embroidered Batiste Mens Handkerchief Hanky

This Victorian Civil War era antique hand embroidered batiste mens handkerchief hanky dates from the 1860s. It is made of a fine white cotton batiste fabric with intricate hand done whitework, embroidery drawn cut work varying floral leaf designs in each corner. This large gentleman\'s handkerchief would have been used for a special occasion, perhaps a wedding and has the owners name hand written in ink near the center. The hanky measures 20 1/2 by 21 1/2 inches. It is in fair as-is condition, has not been laundered with several small faint age spot stains, tiny rewoven mends and a small fray on one corner (see close-ups). This is truly a wonderful piece of hand embroidered hanky textile art!
