This is a very unique souvenir book of art prints, printed sometime around the turn of the century.
- It is called \"Musee Du Louvre\" and contains 32 art prints of artworks from the Louvre in Paris.
- The pictures are all in black and white, of course, and are preceded by explanatory notes on the following paintings in both French and English.
- the artwork pages are printed on heavy cardstock (perhaps to allow one to remove them for framing) and the introductions to the art are on tissue-thin paper.
- Altogether, the book contains about 66 pages, and it seems to be complete (though I cannot be sure).
- the book measures about 9 1/4\" by 6\"
- It is inscribed on the fly leaf with a date of 1905, reading \"To My Precious Leroy - A little remembrance from Paris - Beatrice July 12 - \'05\" which I think lends tremendous value to this.
- This comes with what seems to be an original to the owner note paper, on which the owner has marked more information regarding one of the paintings. I have included that with the book.
- condition: The individual art prints are in very good to excellent condition, with no marks or tears.
- The tissue paper introductions are also intact, but there are a few creases on a few pages.
- The cover as can be seen in my photos is a bit worn, with some wear, some slight corner and edge pieces missing, and the leather on the spine is missing. However, the binding of the book is intact. The wear is what you\'d expect to see on a piece this old.
This is a very very unique item, and I have searched to no avail to find one similar on or the internet!
