This is just a perfect antique box! It doesn't get more lovely than this! The delicate miniature jewel box has a silver cartouche with "Mother" engraved in it. The beautiful silver hinge and clasp are exquisite. Just a stunning oval dresser box dating to c1860.
The box is in fine condition. There are a few indentations around the bottom as seen in the photos. I am not sure if these are damage or natural to the box. There are no dings on the top. I have left the silver unpolished but it could be easily polished if desired. The Mother engraving is rather faint. The top is 3 inches (7.5 cm) long, 2 1/2 inches (6.3 cm) wide and 1 1/4 inches (33 mm) tall.
This is a superb original Antique Mother box, and so very hard to find in today's market! Treat yourself or a loved one to a treasure to cherish for generations and one which will only increase in value over time!
