A beautiful antique Victorian sterling silver brooch that has a locket back. The oval back section is removable so photos or hair etc., can be placed inside. It still has its original glass cover. The front has hand etched grasses providing a backdrop for the two raised game birds, which I believe to be grouse, resting on raised ground. The whole oval brooch has a scallop or pie crust edging. It measures approx. 4.2cm x 3cm and weighs 11.1g. This has not been cleaned, but in my opinion it would benefit from cleaning to show it at its best.
