Description:

Thisis a beautiful, Victorian, solid silver sifting or straining spoon, made ofcast silver, with lovely floral, foliate and ‘C’ scroll decoration; whichfeatures a bird to the centre of the bowl, a face at the centre of handledecoration and a dragon’s head to the end of the handle.

Condition:

Thereare three small cracks and one repair that I can see (not unsightly and as faras I can tell are only visible on the back of the bowl); other than this it isin good condition for 124 years old.

Measurements:

Itmeasures approx.: 18.7 cm long, 7.9 cm across the widest part of the bowl and weighs62.1 grams.

Hallmarks:

Theassay office is London, with date letter for 1891 and the maker’s mark for WilliamHutton & Sons (Edward Hutton).
