Victorian Turkish Ottoman Gold Embroidered Purple Velvet Button Strap Shoes
This pair of antique Victorian era Turkish Ottoman gold embroidered purple velvet button strap shoes date from the late 19th century. They are made of a dark purple velvet fabric, with gold thread hand embroidery couching work and gold metallic sequin bead work done in floral leaf designs. These exquisite Turkish, Ottoman Empire, Western influenced shoes have a Mary Jane style with a single button strap closure across the instep, velvet covered French Louis XV spool heels and are lined in a white kid leather. The shoes measure 10 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide, with 2 1/2 inch high heels. They are in good as-is condition, have been gently worn, with only some minor wear, worn sport on the velvet nap (see close-up). These are truly a rare find of wearable opulent Ottoman shoe art!
