This is an interesting card for several reasons.
1 It is the first company\'s trade card that I have seen with a West Coast and East Coast presence.
2 It has a poem in someone\'s accent, perhaps German or Scandinavian, who knows.
3 It has a father holding a baby, first that I have see. This is a Victorian trade card, circa 1880\'s, and appears to be in very good condition, front and back. It\'s fairly large with an interesting image of a tired man who clearly loves his baby although it looks like the baby is trying to hit him with a spoon. There is a poem that makes some sense but some words are difficult to figure out. Droo? Maybe you. It appears that this Nicoll the Taylor made his living more from selling pants and suits than tailoring, probably mostly men\'s clothes and the prices for over a century ago are not inexpensive according to the back\'s information. I have noticed that clothes seemed quite high in price in almost all of these stores so long ago, especially suits. The back has extensive printing, with all sorts of products mentioned such as cassimeres(cashmeres?) and the exact locations in both S.F. and NYC are listed as well as other items sold along with some prices. I like the slogan, \" The pioneer of moderate prices.\" Recently, I bought many old paper items, inclduing over 400 trade cards, various product labels and wrapping paper with trade marks and some billheads, booklets, etc.Combined Shipping for trade cards
